COMIC BOOK DAY? - It’s
no secret that parking at Jetpack can be troublesome at best.
The lot and driveway next to the store are being reserved for
the guests of the day.

with the municipal parking lots.> GET THE MOST FREE COMIC BOOKS! What if it rains? Come on SALLY! Bring your galoshes, an umbrella and a Garbage Bag to wear! If you let a little Rain keep you from the Free Comic Book Day booty then you aren’t cool enough to be reading comic books. IT’S A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT! All the guests and all the cool things will be under tents or in the store. So, for at least a potion of the time you’ll be a cool thing, too. 9:00 am - The Doors open and the circus tent has it's flaps pulled back for everyone. The Scavenger hunt begins at Jetpack Comics. This year it is at least 4 tents, a stage and 14 other businesses. You want to get here early so you don't miss out on the fun, swag and the things you want to buy. Sale flyers, Free Comic Books and other swag will be available in the circus tent! Jetpack Subscribers - get your special savings coupons in the store. Good only for the day so don't miss out. Please note that you all are getting special coupons but they need to be used before you get your Free Comics and additional swag. Take a few minutes and pick up the cool stuff you want, cheap, and then hit the Free Comic Room. Jetpack Visitors and First Timers - Your special
savings flyers and coupons will be right at the register in the
store. Just
walk on in, get your flyer, save some $$ and have fun!
FREE COMIC BOOK DAY LIMITS - Please take your time to choose the comics and freebies that are of interest to you.
Not only will there be TONS and TONS of comic books but there will
be posters, pins, stickers, bookmarks and more. There is a strict 3 FREEBIE per person or 6 FREEBIE per family
limit and NO TAKING MULTIPLE COPIES of ANYTHING - we need to have
enough to go around. Of course you are welcome to pick up additional items at the cheap rate of 4/$1.00. Heck - you can't get comics that cheap anywhere so stock up. We're not trying to be cheap here - we really do have to buy these comics to give-away. Jabba The Hutt - Come and have your picture taken with this life-sized Jabba The Hutt. Yes, Salasciuos Crumb is going to be there along with Slave Leia and maybe even a Boba Fett. Expect to see Storm Troopers, Tusken Raiders and more members of the 501st roaming the streets of Rochester. Jabba will be at the Rochester Opera House. Free Star Comics as part of the comic book hunt. The 501st will be collecting donations for the Jimmy Fund. Please support Jabba's appearance with a generous tax deductible donation to this cause. GRAVITYLAND
LIVE BROADCAST FROM FREE COMIC BOOK DAY
– John Herman’s Gravityland is a hit web success.
No, it really is. John
just came back from a speaking engagement in NYC about his web based
series, came and broadcast from our convention this past week and is now
heading up to Rochester again, for a Jetpack Comics Return for a FREE
COMIC BOOK DAY live broadcast. If
all goes well we’ll be broadcasting from 2 locations, live on the web
all Free Comic Book Day long. It’s
going to be one of the coolest parts of Free Comic Book Day fo sure.
Everyone loves to be on TV. This
just in…once again our friend John Herman is the man (can you be the man
more than once?). Much like
24 hour comic day he entered a film in the 48 hour film project. Of course, since we only hang with talented people, John
ruled the event. In addition
to an Audience Choice Award, the film won Best Script, Best Ensemble, Best
Costumes, and Best Actress. John was awarded (Boston's) Best
Cinematographer. Go New Hampshire! John’s film also won won the award
for Best Film. You best get into his Free Comic Book Day broadcast.
You many never get the chance to work with him again!

Jetpack Comics and the Rochester Main Street Association present the first CITY-WIDE Free Comic Book Day Event!
Join us on Saturday, May 3rd for a Free Comic Book Day experience like no other! Of course there will be plenty of Free Comic Books available at Jetpack Comics but wouldn't you like to get over a DOZEN more for free?
The days events will take you through downtown Rochester, visiting stores, meeting Jabba The Hutt and filling out your FCBD Comic Book Hunt Card. Visit all the merchants participating in the event, get a free comic book from each location. Complete your card, return it to Jetpack Comics and be entered in a drawing to win an ED MCGUINNESS HULK original piece of art! Ed's originals sell well over $300 but this can be yours for FREE!
You can start the day at Jetpack Comics, pick up your Comic Book Hunt Card, complete with walking map and the comic book list, and be on your way to hunting down everything you need to win the super grand prize! Participating businesses may even have their own special deals going on that day.
