 Session 1: Comic Book Fun for grades 4-6 

 
(1 week course) Open to anybody with an interest in drawing comics! And who isn’t interested in that? Focus will be on fun as students create their own characters and comic strips, while learning drawing techniques related to illustration. “Comic Cash” will be awarded to students for mastery of concepts, which can then be spent on items in the mysterious prize box.
 
Class meets M-F, 1:30 - 4 pm, July 2-6

About the instructor Mr. Bonello has a B.A. in Fine Arts and a Masters Degree in Education. He has over sixteen years of experience teaching Art to both elementary and middle school students. He regularly includes sequential art in his class curriculum and has supervised comic book clubs and camps for over a decade.
 
Philosophy Art lessons at Jetpack Comics are an opportunity for young people to explore the medium of sequential art and comic book illustration while at the same time having a lot of fun. Students, regardless of ability, are encouraged to explore new techniques and ideas in an environment that supports taking risks and creative thinking. Session 2: Comic Book Fun for grades 7-9


This class will build on concepts established in previous sessions (but is open to newcomers). Campers will extend knowledge of drawing principles and techniques, while exploring new ideas in composition and graphic story telling.

Class meets M-F, 1:30 – 4 pm, July 16-20
